Now in its second year, the New Dorp Lane District Art Display is a local initiative created to celebrate young student artists from Staten Island and support local businesses, all while commemorating National Free Comic Book Day.
From April 28 through May 4, 2025, friends and family throughout the neighborhood visited businesses—restaurants, stores, and organizations—along New Dorp Lane from Hylan Boulevard to Richmond Road, as well as New Dorp Plaza between Rose Avenue and Steele Avenue.
Each business featured an awesome work of art created by a student from Staten Island Technical High School or Monsignor Farrell High School. The community came together to vote for their favorite work of art. On June 20, they will come together to the Lane once again to award the first and second place winning artists.
